Read: Psalm 125, 2 Kings 2:9-22, Acts 3:17-4:4
Reflect: In our modern world, there are so many different ideas about God. It is always helpful for us to be clear about which God we serve and speak about. We can say ‘God’ when talking to someone else, without realizing that our idea of God and their idea of God are completely different. When we look at how the disciples taught we see clarity. We obviously hear Jesus, but also the God of Moses and Abraham.
We also see clarity of message-in this case repentance. In this message we have Peter describing repentance as hope. During the season of Advent, hope is a strong theme, and for good measure! We praise and worship Jesus for what He did on the cross, for how He rose from the dead, and the simple fact that He became one of us. Our reason for celebrating Christmas is that he came to live among us, to teach us, to die for us, to show us victory over the grave, but to also proclaim a return.
In response to that, as Christians, we must live a life of repentance. It should be a sign of encouragement to fellow believers, but also a sign of hope to those who do not believe in Jesus.
As we celebrate Christmas, we celebrate the life of Jesus. He made a way for us to experience repentance as an opportunity of hope.

Discuss:
Is there an area of your life that needs to experience repentance?
Maybe you have done wrong but you CAN turn around with God!
How can you live a life of repentance to encourage someone in your life?
Pray:
God, I thank you for this great season of Advent I get to share with my friends and family. I thank you that I can come before you with my sin, repent of it, and know you love me. Help me to live a life of repentance knowing that I can only do so because of your son Jesus Christ. Let my life be an example to others. I love you. Amen.
