Faith That Comes by Hearing
God’s Word brings hope, healing, and transformation. That’s why Audio Bibles are such a powerful part of ministry in remote, oral cultures. When people hear Scripture in their own heart language, barriers fall. The Gospel isn’t just understood—it’s experienced. Through the Hope Squad with World Concern, your $26 a month helps provide audio Bibles around the world.
How an Audio Bible Works

- Solar-Powered: No electricity? No problem. Audio Bibles recharge in the sun, making them perfect for remote areas.
- Durable Design: Built to withstand rugged environments, dust, and heat.
- Group Listening: Loud enough for families or small groups to gather and hear God’s Word together.
- Multiple Languages: Available in local heart languages
What Makes Audio Bibles So Effective?
Audio Bibles meet people where they are, especially in communities where literacy is limited or where written materials are scarce. They’re portable, durable, and solar-powered, designed for rugged environments and group listening. For pastors without formal training, they become a teaching companion. For believers who gather quietly, they become a lifeline.
- They speak the heart language. Hearing Scripture in your own tongue builds understanding and trust.
- They serve oral cultures. In communities where stories are learned and passed down by listening, Audio Bibles fit naturally.
- They gather people. Families and neighbors listen together, discuss, pray, and grow.
Hope for the Unreached
The Moran people of Samburu—young men ages 15 to 35—live in rugged, isolated areas where tradition shapes every part of life. Most have never been to school. They spend long days herding livestock or hunting in the wild, far from villages and far from the church. The Moran are considered one of the least reached groups in the region, with many having never heard the gospel.
During a sports evangelism event, staff invited the Morans to gather in small groups and offered audio Bibles—Scripture they could hear in a language of their own. 36 Morans immediately asked for an audio Bible of their own.

Lpenesi had never heard anything about Jesus. His life revolved around hunting, roaming the bush with peers, and following long‑standing cultural traditions. But during a World Concern outreach, Lpenesi heard the gospel for the first time—and chose to give his life to Christ. When he received his audio Bible, he lit up with excitement. Now, as he spends hours in the wilderness, he listens to Scripture—often the only voice of truth he hears all day.
The audio Bibles have become lifelines for young people like Lpenesi— who spend their lives in places where the Word hasn’t reached. Through these simple devices, World Concern is bringing hope into the heart of the Samburu wilderness, one Moran at a time. Listening groups grow into vibrant fellowships. Forgiveness replaces bitterness. Hearts find rest in the Words of Jesus.
