Today, I want to remind you of what God says about you …
“The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17
God is with you. God is powerful and will save you. This verse is packed with promises we all need, especially right now. But more than that, it says something that you might never expect … that God loves you so much he delights in you!
If you’re like me, you may be thinking, “Ok, God, I get it that you love me. But I haven’t showered today, I don’t have any makeup on, my house is a mess, I keep forgetting not to worry, and I just yelled at my kids. How on earth can you delight in me with all of that going on?”
Oh friend, that’s why God is God and we are not. The Lord looks beyond all of the surface things … and even the inconsistencies inside of us … and he doesn’t just love us, he actually DELIGHTS in us!
And there’s even more … God says he will quiet you with his love. How sweet is that? God wants to quiet every racing thought you and I have. He wants to lay a blanket of peace over us today. A blanket of his love.
And finally, God says he will rejoice over you with singing. Can you imagine that? He wants to replace our anxieties and insecurities with a song of love. Just like Cory Asbury sings in “Reckless Love” …
