The fall…This has always been my favorite time of year…back to school…Seahawks Football…and especially the fall colors!
This is the first of what I hope are many ‘KCIS Communique’s’ to come. I want this regular correspondence to help KCIS listeners like you to review some programs you may have missed, keep in mind some upcoming events, and share some of my personal observations. You can email about anything shared in these KCIS Communiques at mark@kcisradio.com.
This past summer my wife Jennie and I were blessed to attend Cannon Beach Christian Conference Center where Luis Palau was the featured speaker. We also met his son Kevin who had just helped his dad complete a big outreach in New Your City. The way the Palau Evangelistic Association cooperated with so many diverse people to bring about their outreach was truly inspiring. Kevin wrote a book about the way they reach cities called ‘Unlikely’ and he was featured recently on Focus on the Family with Jim Daly. If you missed those broadcasts, I encourage you to listen HERE
Also in the last few months, some new, locally produced programs have started on KCIS that I want you to check out: Tuesdays at 1pm we now feature ‘Sound Mind with Daniel Pryor.’ Daniel is a local counselor and life coach who has a real heart for reaching people with practical advice. On Wednesdays at 1pm we feature ‘Think Again Christian with Tony Jaime.’ Tony leads Rainer Christian Schools and is also a pastor and has a great gift for communicating Christian Truth. The newest program is on Fridays at 1pm, ‘Always Faithful with Athena Dean.’ Athena has a lot of experience in radio ministry and is also an accomplished book publisher. She often has very helpful interviews on her program.
I hope to include a featured song each week with these letters…This week, check out a fun song from the early 80’s that always gets a reaction from KCIS listeners…it’s only been in rotation on the radio for a few weeks and I’ve already had inquiries about it…It’s called ‘Love Song for Number Two’ by Mickey and Becki Moore. Enjoy! LISTEN HERE
Finally, thanks to everyone who was praying for the KCIS Fall Pledge Drive, which concluded on October 9th. We had a record show of financial support to keep the ministry of KCIS strong and to replace our night-time tower that was damaged in the late August wind storms. Here is a picture of the new KCIS Tower loaded on a truck and traveling up from California this week. It should be installed and in service by the first part of November. Please keep this entire project in your prayers.
