Greetings to you…They say “March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.” Usually that refers to weather conditions, but perhaps our political season this year feels similar. Either way, I’m sure we are all feeling compelled to pray for our country.
My wife and I had the good fortune to attend the National Religious Broadcaster’s convention in Nashville recently. Meeting many of the KCIS program providers and hearing great speakers like Rick Warren, Ann Grahm Lotz and Eric Metaxas. We were able to watch Eric in action as he interviewed many very different people for his program “The Eric Metaxas Show”, heard on KCIS weekday afternoons at 5pm. He also hosts something called “Socrates in the City” which features provocative discussion, with a recent presentation on “Atheism and Its Scientific Pretensions.”
Another highlight for me personally at NRB was to meet a Christian Music artist from my formative years as a teenager. Before Amy Grant, there was EVIE. She was VERY popular in the 1970’s and hers was one of the first Christian Music albums my praying Aunty Lee gave me to counter my interest in secular rock music. Seeing that I had KISS posters and other worldly rock musicians on my bedroom walls, she gave me the Evie album called “Gentle Moments.” Remember that one? Here she is singing “Give Them All to Jesus.”
I’ll be sharing more pictures and stories from NRB in coming KCIS Communiques. Please keep the dates of April 20-22 in your prayers as those are the days of the KCIS Spring Pledge Drive.
